COVID 19 Protocols, Risk Assessment & Management Plan

The health, safety and well-being of our passengers and staff are of paramount importance to us. In keeping with Government and Health Authority guidelines we have implemented a COVID Safe Plan to provide the safest possible travel on our vehicles.

It is imperative that for group travel to take place safely, any person feeling unwell or experiencing COVID 19 symptoms including cough, fever, sore throat, sneezing or runny nose, fatigue, and shortness of breath should remain home and not travel.

Group travel is to maintain social distancing guidelines, including a seating plan, with the Dept of Health encouraging a social distance of 1.5 metres from others (outside a family group) where possible.

All our vehicles are equipped with disposable gloves for manual handling, sanitising and cleaning equipment to clean high touch surfaces inside the vehicles, a number of masks for use by the driver and symptomatic passengers, and hand sanitiser is available so as to maintain good hand hygiene practices.

Passengers will be required as part of group travel to supply their contact information to assist in contact tracing should the need arise.

All vehicles will be equipped with handheld temperature checking devices and all passengers may have their temperature tested prior to boarding.

We have increased the cleaning regime of the vehicles including the frequency, and the cleaning of high touch surfaces such as handrails, tops of seats, seat backs, armrests, seatbelts and edge of luggage racks with commercial grade cleaning products.

Air conditioning in the vehicles is set to recycle fresh air in the cabin with vents directed to circulate airflow from the ceiling to the floor.

Southern Star Coaches is committed to providing hygienically clean vehicles for your safe travel.
